Job Requirements

• 5+ years experience as a support, sustaining or development engineer or other directly related experience in an enterprise environment
• Outstanding understanding of the current Linux kernel internals, with emphasis on filesystem and/or storage subsystem
• Strong experience in one or more of the following technology areas as a software engineer, developer or in depth troubleshooting analyst:
• Common local and network Linux file systems (ext2/3/4, XFS, nfs, cifs, etc.)
• Storage area networks, storage virtualisation and fiber channel attached storage (inc. iSCSI/FCoE) is a plus
• Redundant storage systems (RAID, multipath I/O, distributed storage) is a plus
• Troubleshooting and debugging in distributed and multithreaded environments
• Development experience with C and familiarity with established open source methodologies
• Understanding of hardware architecture (x86/x86_64 is required, others are beneficial)
• Experience writing scripts using BASH and Python to troubleshoot and correct Linux issues. Knowledge of other scripting languages is a plus.

пробовал менять шрифты в настройках, в системе, устанавливать Микрософтовские, ставить расширения для собственного CSS. Все равно оно выглядит вот так. ЧЯДНТ?!!

Году в 2000м или 1999 видел на выставках в отделах CAD и 3D-моделирования такую штуку, не знаю как называется. Размером с мышку, с несколькими клавишами, работает как track point, только большой, подо всю ладонь. Кажется он еще был чувствителен к «надавить» и «потянуть». Как оно называлось?

Никогда не видел LXC, а тут надо! Есть mysql, он работает, у него в конфиге прописан сокет, у него в командной строке сокет. Делаем chroot в его контейнер

У меня тут подписка на google apps прекратилась. При чем мне важно сменить страну привязки, а для РФ это или нельзя, или очень сложно.

Ну что, почту я уже перенёс, G+ пустой, в хэнгауте 2 разговора. Да и древний abondarenko@gmail.com на месте. Решил попробовать жить без гугловых сервисов, поставил Оперу (в фф живёт работа). А неплохо! Вот эти дополнительные штучки, даже удобные.

В Gnome-Shell можно настроить, чтобы приложение возникало на определенном рабочем столе, но указать можно только номер. Можно ли как-то сказать ему не только номер рабочего стола, но и номер монитора, если такой есть сейчас в системе?

Второй вопрос: можно ли хотя бы сказать, что приложение должно быть развенруто на полный экран?

Есть ли какая-то возможность сказать Gnome, чтобы на lock-screen работал только английский язык (как в маке) или происходил сброс в язык по умолчанию, как раньше было? А не использовалась последняя использованная раскладка?

Никогда такого не было и вот опять! Как в Fedora 24 глобально отрегулировать скорость скроллинга? Я 3 месяца назад это делал, но с последним обновлением колесо мыши снова стало гиперчувствительным. Для ФФ и Хрома есть расширения, которые эту проблему купируют (опять же, уродски), но я хочу глобальной настройки.

Это проблема Гнома? Иксов? Железа?

В свете последних событий. В бытность мою уже не очень молодым идеалистом, я считал, что самоорганизующиеся сообщества через некоторое время или разваливаются, или путем постоянных улучшений трансформируются в нечто прекрасное. Главное здесь не мешать всем хорошим людям собраться и убить всех плохих людей. Ну правда же: пакет поправок Яровой, цензура или деятельность академиков РАЕН может быть квалифицирована только как однозначно-деструктивная любым нормальным человеком. Да это же просто критерий адекеватности, необходимый и достаточный! Тем более если он вцелом единомышленник и может помочь сконфигурировать KDE на FreeBSD так, чтобы шрифты выглядели аккутарно.

Я понимал роль модерации и управления сообществом как постоянный активный мониторинг и подавление пользователей, которые против всего хорошего и за все плохое. И пусть не я выгнал Ирсю, а Володя, я был рад. Одним фриком меньше - она ступенька на пути к идеалу пройдена. Переосмысление произошло когда мне примерно в 3 часа ночи позвонил R00Т с желанием немедленного визита по адресу, который прописан во whois моего домена (да, у меня там честная информация, звоните, заходите в гости). Я тогда временно не проживал по тому адресу, и ЛОР не модерировал: ребенок, переезды, Мерседес старше меня - личная жизнь бьет ключом. А фрик спроецировал некую ситуацию пятилетней давности, экстраполировал ее на тот момент по своим понятиям и решил приехать в гости примерно в 4 часа утра.

В связи с этим у меня будет 2 (две) мыли, которые я хочу озвучить:

Модераторам: фрики - необходимая часть любого сдорового сообщества, если вы не хотите видеть это сообщество аудиторией и исполнителями концерта ко Дню Милиции. Сообщества либо пораждают все сорта безумных, либо выраждаются до Кобзона и его благодарной публики. Не надо так! Учитывайте когнитивное искажение выборки: вы общаетесь примерно с 2% публики, а применяете правила к 100%. Задача модерации минимизировать возмущения и сохранять общую культуру, а не выражать чье-то правильное мнение. ЛОР никогда не станет идеальным в вашем понимании.

Троллям: модераторы - необходимая часть любого сообщества, если вы не хотите виделть это сообщество аудиторией и организаторами архитипичной дискотеки сельской местности из фольклорных 90х. Пить ягу под «Дюну» прикольно, но через каких-нибудь 5-6 лет атмосфера будет как на фидошных поинтвках в 2010м. Это точно так же уныло, нет ничего мерзее застрявшего в прошлом фрика.

Как вы знаете, в РФ есть довольно странное законодательство на счет персональных данных, в котором зарубежные рекрутеры не хотят разбираться. Со стороны это выглядит так, как будто вы пошли на сайт например Red Hat или IBM, а нажать кнопку «apply» вам не дали, вывесив текст о том, что законодательство вашей cтраны не позволяет обрабатывать персданные за границей.

ВАЖНО: эту заглушку не ставит работодатель, ее ставит рекрутер потому что так ему посоветовал МакКинзи или Прайс, которые так посоветовали потому что увидели некоторый риск для рекрутера. Никаких других прчин для этого нет, если вы зайдете на ту же страницу с IP любой европейской страны или США, то ваше резюме будет принято, рассмотрено, вам будут звонить на ваш российский номер телефона.

Важно понимать, что перетащить вас из страны в страну стоит некоторого количества сил и денег. Самостоятельно этого добиться трудно, для этого есть специальные агенства, у которых есть отработанные процедуры. Из этого есть 2 важных прямых следствия и одно косвеное: искать работу стоит в больших корпорациях/стартапах с деньгами, которым не горит вас нанять и для которых затраты на перевозку не критичны. Просто составьте таблицу больших фирм, чья продукция вам нравится, сходите на их раздел «Карьера» и попроситесь на все-все вакансии, которые вам подходят. Второе следствие: естественно все эти затраты кратно вернутся работодателю за первые ваши 2 года работы, так как бизнес - деятельность по извлечению прибыли и единственная причина вас нанять и тащить через пол мира - маржинальность вашей деятельности (местный попросит больше денег и не будет так держаться за место как вы за визу). Это нормально, считайте их затраты на ваше беспроблемное перемещение своей косвенной прибылью. Самостоятельно вы все равно потратите больше, можете потерпеть неудачу не зная точно важных формальностей. Косвенное следствие: с идущими работать в большую корпорацию посольство обращается значительно мягче, чем с идущими работать в новую или мутную фирму.

Прежде чем посылать CV в большую фирму, сходите на Linkedin/Facebook, пройдитесь там по знакомым и укажите их как референсы в резюме. Вы не поверите, сколько пользователей ЛОР, например, в Бренском Red Hat или IBM и с каким удовольствием они оставят о вас отзыв своему HR. Cпойлер: это возможные премии во многих конторах, так что не стесняйтесь спрашивать и просить рекомендации.

UPDATE из 2019. Теперь по крайней мере Red Hat заставляет формально аппаиться через российское представительство посте того, как зааплаился через VPN.
