Hi there GlassFish community,
We wanted to let you all know that we have been working on a plan to migrate Java EE projects to GitHub. It is now time to start implementing that plan.
We will begin migrating repositories to GitHub right away. The first project on that list will be the GlassFish project. The new home for GlassFish repository will be:
All current and active Java EE related projects will be migrated into the JavaEE Github organization (i.e. https://github.com/javaee/glassfishmq; https://github.com/javaee/glassfish-corba). There may be some organizational differences due to feature differences between java.net and GitHub. We will do our best to help you find the technologies as they are migrated.
What will happen:
We have been validating our procedures with the GlassFish project as it is the largest and most complex of the Java EE family. This will pave the way for the rest the Java EE projects from java.net.
We will first migrate the GlassFish project source repository to GIT and placing it at GitHub. If you don't know GIT there are many self-learning resources available for you. You can start with GitHub's Guides. Or, try out this 15 minute tutorial: https://try.github.io
Along with the source repositories, we will be migrating the GlassFish issues to GitHub issue tracker. The GitHub guides provide a 10 minute reader for working with issues (https://guides.github.com/features/issues/).
The GlassFish website, will move to https://javaee.github.io/javaee/glassfish, but wait a couple of days for that.
Finally, e-mail archives will follow, but not right away.
Since GlassFish is constantly evolving, this is a one-time process and we are notifying you as we begin. Migration will begin this evening (April 17th). You can still read from the existing repository at java.net, but updates (e.g. JIRA updates) starting now, may be lost in the migration.
Users may continue using the current GlassFish Users e-mail list (users@glassfish.java.net) for a few more days. We will have an update about e-mail list transitions shortly.
Other projects will begin migrating once GlassFish has successfully moved over. This is a large effort and no doubt problems may come up. Please bear with us during this transitional period.
We are excited about this change and hope that this will be beneficial to our community users as well.
Thanks,
-- Ed Bratt, Senior Development Manager, Oracle
С одной стороны это как бы хорошо (инфраструктура опенсурсных проектов у оракла хреновая), с другой както это колхозно выглядит, толи фейк, толи правда но тогда похоже оракел их прикопать пытается.
