Enlightenment 0.16.6 Released

Following several months of intensive development, bug reporting and fixes, we are pleased to announce that the latest installment of the DR16 series, Enlightenment version 0.16.6 has finally been released. Significant new features in this version include:

-Full support for freedesktop.org Extended Window Manager Hints (EMWH) Specifications. This means that E now works excellently with both KDE 3.x and Gnome 2.x desktops and their applications.
-Automatic menu generation updated to work with Gnome 2.x and KDE 3.x menus.
-Support for software cursors in XFree86 4.3 or higher
-Numerous bugfixes including focus issues, Epplets and more

Ведь какой же все таки потенциал заложили разрабтчики в этот вм, ведь уже сколько времени не появляются значительные обновления, на самом сайте написано, что е17 не будет вообще, а люди используют его, т.к. в него заложили столько, что без дополнений народ будет пользоваться им еще не один год, в т.ч. и я.

Лично я пользуюсь Enlightenment. Меня устраивает. Мне она кажется самой удобной из всех ;)

Кто это такое сказал, что E17 не будет. Я его лично юзал (из CVS). Правда юзать там ещё нечего, кроме пустого меню, работаючего но не показывающего иконки iconbar'а и красивого background'а.

When will E 17 be released?
The release date for E17 is sometime in the distant future; a date unknown yet even to the developers themselves. The release day in fact will probably be something that just happens one day and not something in anyway planned.

Thu Sep 18 - benr - The Big News Update

After months of restraint heres the big update as to where E is and is going. Enlightenment DR17, the window manager currently in e17 CVS, is dead. As was mentioned in the State of E address awhile back the current WM code needs a complete rewrite, and thus the current code is nothing but a test platform. There is currently no publicly available WM code for DR17, but the initial CVS commit will be coming in the next month or two.
