>You can measure the MTF using a modulated single siemens star. This siemens star test chart is available from Image Engineering at low cost. You will get an MTF for each segment. The chart has to be illuminated homogeneously and the camera should be fixed on a tripod to minimize motion blur. Be aware that a lot of different settings in the camera influence the resolution (e.g. file-compression, sharpening, iso-speed). Set them carefully.
