gnome problem

When i login as the user that has already been logged in, gnome is unusable in Fedora Core 4. How do i fix that? It worked fine in Slackware 10.

As far as i can get you, no, it doesn't refuse to work, but there are no items on both panels, the theme is reset to default, and almost every icon is replaced by some strange "default" one. It's like some gray piece of paper. Looks like shit anyway.
