Проблема с установкой Latex

Попытался установить latex в debian, но установка прерывается с следующим сообщением.

Настраивается пакет tex-common (6.18) …
Running mktexlsr. This may take some time... done.
Running mtxrun --generate. This may take some time... done.
Running updmap-sys. This may take some time... done.
Running mktexlsr /var/lib/texmf ... done.
Building format(s) --all.
        This may take some time... 
fmtutil failed. Output has been stored in

dpkg: ошибка при обработке пакета tex-common (--configure):
 подпроцесс из пакета tex-common установлен сценарий post-installation возвратил код ошибки 1
При обработке следующих пакетов произошли ошибки:
 tex-common
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Пробовал устанавливать с параметрами -f и –fix-broken (пробовал и именем пакета, и без), не помогло. Установка с aptitude так же не дала результата.
