Разные проблемы с Sabayon

1. Проблема с кодировками...
Чето я перемудрил и теперь в виртуальной консольке (может неправильно называю, жму alt+ctrl+F*) кирилица отображается как знаки вопроса...
В konsole всё ок... правда в манах (тех, что на русском) - таже лабуда.

LC_ALL=ru_RU.UTF-8

2. midnight commander:
2.1. в строке, где должны быть подсказки, хинты и прочее вместо текста показываются комманды символов (типа "<F3>")...
2.2. mcedit показывает табуляцию как "<===>"
Версия mc - 4.6.2-pre1

3. Стоит fglrx, при композите (compiz или "эффекты рабочего стола" kde4) разворачиваю "на полный экран" tvtime/vlc/другой_плеер - виснут иксы.
Версия дров fglrx - 9.3, X.Org X Server 1.5.3

Знаю, что проблемы 1-2 решаемы, но вот третяя, похоже, не решается.
Помогите, о великое сообщество :)
Какие конфиги показать?

Кошерно...
tvtime при таком конфиге не работает, пришлось пересесть на xdtv.
В остальном - всё ок, замечаний нет.
