Скорее всего не смог загрузить фирмварь в адаптер.

Хз, по идее с чего бы пакету сломаться. Если только ты вручную драйвер не пытался поставить.

Вообще, половина моих проблем с устройствами - забывал перезагрузиться после обновления ядра. Перезагрузка до сих пор первейшее средство для борьбы с багами.

Можно попробовать посмотреть поддерживает ли драйвер твоё устройство (просто не знаю что ещё посоветовать):
