This position is a software development position with ODesk.
If you're a perl engineer and also like RoR and/or Django, you will love working for ODesk.
This is a long term full time contract.
Should be available for at least 3-4 hours Mon-Fri between 08:00-19:00 PST.
Qualifications:
Experience in large scale web application and multi-tier system development.
At least 5+ years experience
Recent 3+ years experience in designing and developing software for consumer web sites.
Server-side development experience using Perl
Experience with Catalyst and/or Mojolicious
Experience with Ruby on Rails or Django a big plus
Experience with PHP and/or Java a plus
Expert with mod_perl
Expert with DBI
Expert in Modern Object Oriented Programming in Perl
Experience with Moose a big plus
Experience in developing RPC and WebServices in Perl
Experience with agile or iterative development with frequent releases in a SaaS environment.
Experience designing and developing highly scalable and robust server systems.
Experience with relational databases. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL is a nice-to-have.
Agile development methodology (SCRUM preferred)
Complex data structure modeling, optimization, and algorithm expertise.
Experience working with remote teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
