Или чем Вас не устраивает такой вариант\почему он говно?

Всё работает на ура - сам так делаю: mplayer -softvol -softvol-max 5000 example.avi

-af volnorm

-softvol-max не срабатывал, помогло -af volume=20 без второго ключа
