Compaq Evo N600c

После начала загрузки linux'а кулер останавливается и не включается даже во время компиляции ядра (во время которой срабатывает защита и комп вырубается).

Комп: Compaq Evo N600c Система: Debian Linux Sarge (ядро 2.6.8).

Может кто сталкивался с проблемой... Только купил laptop, а тут такие грабли - в linux долго работать нельзя...

Также подскажите ссылки на инфо о ACPI, APM, и настройке этого в linux - я в этом вообще не шарю, а гугл выдал столько ссылок, что более менее стоящую доку я СХОДУ не нашел. А нужно побыстрее... Помогите.
