дак в чем же все-таки была проблема, я так и не понял... у меня на 2.6.8 такая же фигня только с CD-RW ... как решил?? а на 2.6.7 работает...

У него фигня в том, что не почитав документацию, он полез ставить новое ядро и оставил по привычке scsi-эмуляцию. Делать этого не надо, иначе писать твой привод не будет.

в конфиге загрузчика append="hdc=scsi" быть не должно. сие есть наследие старых ядер.
