С VirtualGL работает, но чувствуется просадка.

По-моему, виноват не примус, а кривовайн. Попробуй с playonlinux тоже самое (сам playonlinux надо запускать под primus'ом)

P.s.
У меня и нативные игры последний раз когда я примус использовал ниработали почему-то, тч. я пользуюсь optirun и проблем не уижу. :)
