Какой видео драйвер использует qemu не знаю.
Понятно, ну значит по умолчанию. Я бы попробовал на твоём месте ещё другие варианты (std и qxl), чтобы сравнить производительность. Возможно, если подлагивает, что оно в это и упирается. Вот цитата из мана
