wifi RTL8723BU не подключается к сети с паролем

Дано: RPi2, Raspbian обновленный, ядро кастомное 4.19.114. Купил на свою голову usb wifi RTL8723BU. Описание нашел после получения посылки (https://www.realtek.com/en/products/communications-network-ics/item/rtl8723bu). Драйвера отсюда (https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8723bu), блеклист дополнил. В выводе ifconfig есть wlan0, wlan1, к открытой сети подключаются оба с разными mac-адресами и IP. Видимо, потому что оставил EXTRA_CFLAGS += -DCONFIG_CONCURRENT_MODE

На дефолтном ядре та же проблема, realtek-firmware ставил/удалял. Другой usb wifi (ralink) подключается при любых условиях, без него ошибка сохраняется.
