Сабж. У nano теперь версия 2.7.5, а у ed'а - 1.14.2.

Напоминаю, что nano - один из немногих текстовых редакторов, которые умеют собираться с опцией --disable-utf8.

В ed'е почти ничего не поменяли:

Затем, что в vim есть нормальный поиск, регэксп-замена и прочие плюшки.

Все эти плюшки есть и в редакторе с полноценным GUI, который можно запустить на клиенте.

Я на это уже отвечал. На фашизм как раз таки больше похоже когда «рассово верной» признают одну единственную кодировку, и начинают гнобить другие кодировки и их юзеров.

Если какая-то кодировка существует - значит, кому-то это нужно.

Верно, но раз уж речь идёт о чём-то более серьёзном чем смена опции в конфиге — скопировать файл по любому доступному протоколу не составит особого труда.

Многим командная строка гораздо удобнее.

Я, конечно, ни за что не агитирую, но это похоже на мантру. GUI аналоги консольных текстовых редакторов обычно предоставляют тот же функционал плюс собственные плюшки.

nano умеет в подсветку синтаксиса, так что тем, кто никак не смог осилить vi/vim, советую его.

я в своё время(на второй год в линуксе) свалил с нано на вим, потому что не осилил в нано задний фон сделать не черным. от черного глаза вытекали.
