Puppy Linux - это выдающийся проект аналогов, котрого до сих
пор не было. Я знаком с несколькими программистами,
"героями нашего времени", которые разделяют мою точку зрения.
Предлагаю одобрить пост и на деле выяснить на сколько это
неинтересно.


Puppy's goals

* Easily install to USB, Zip or hard drive media.
* Booting from CD (or DVD), the CD drive is then free for other purposes.
* Booting from CD (or DVD), save everything back to the CD.
* Booting from USB Flash drive, minimise writes to extend the life indefinitely.
* Extremely friendly for Linux newbies.
* Boot up and run extraordinarily fast.
* Have all the applications needed for daily use.
* Will just work, no hassles.
* Will breathe new life into old PCs
* Load and run totally in RAM for diskless thin stations


These are extraordinary goals, yet Puppy achieves them all. The fundamental reason is that Puppy has been built from scratch, file-by-file, and is not based on any other Linux distribution. One of the most amazing features of Puppy is the range of powerful applications yet such tiny size ...and the speed.

Всё равно не интересно. Очередной live-cd дистрибутив для сосунков. "Запустил с сидюка, посмотрел и выбросил"

А чего в нем такого выдающегося? чем DSL не понравился? Slax? зачем оно надо?

я пропостил новость еще раз.
это не Slax и не Knopix/DSL, см. особенности.
Мое мнение, что ничего зазорного в том, чтобы публиковать
новости о выходе новой версии linux distributive, того же
Slax, DSL и т.д. - НЕТ. Ведь,на сколько я понимаю, задача LORa,
как раз в этом и состоит, поэтому позиция модератора мне непонятна.

Ha ha, there used to be quite a long answer here, in which I compared features of various tiny 50-70M distros. But, why not just own up, Puppy is better. But then, I'm the developer of Puppy, so what answer do you expect!

Seriously, "if the hat fits, wear it". Try the others, use the one you like best. Do be careful of superficial assessments though -- some reviewers are guilty of this. Use a distro for a few days, try doing all the things that you would want to use a distro for. Yeah, and don't forget that Puppy is only 50-70M. Bear that in mind when you're comparing a 700M distro! (actually, there are many testimonials that Puppy is better than most 700M distros)

Можно поподробнее о его работе с образов qemu? Имхо, именно в этом он превосходит всех остальных -- больше никто специально с этим не возился.

Позицию модертора под ником Шоман007 понять логикой нельзя, он находится выше, точнее в стороне от этой логики то подтверждая совершенно бестолковые новости, даже не удосужившись их проверить, то на корню отбрасывая под тем же предлогом. Короче, нам не понять тонкую душу Шомана.
