hi!

i would like to report how to get 3d stereo viewing working under linux!

i used the following ingredients:

Accelerated X - a commercial X server which has OpenGL and 3d stereo support for a variety of 3d hardware accelerated cards - http://www.xig.com/
Coin - a free OpenInventor 2.1 implementation - http://www.coin3d.org/
Linux - a free OS that has a cosy penguin as its masquot - http://www.linux.org/


get and install the Platinum DX edition of the Accelerated X server as this is the version which has all the OpenGL features enabled and especially the needed 3d stereo support. (there is a demo version to try out before acquiring it).

if you already have got Coin3d installed you have to reconfigure and install it again so that the 3d stereo viewing capabilities of the Accelerated X provided OpenGL library get detected and compiled in. do the same for SoQt and start an Examinerviewer. now press the right mouse button in the examiner window and select "Stereo Viewing->Quad buffer" in the popup window.

You should be viewing in stereo now!

Вообщем все упирается в Accelerated X...если есть деньги или другие средства заполучения этого пакета :)

Если же это не устраивает то можно посмотреть в гуугле по словам "linux 3d stereo video X11"
