Fedora 17, NVIDIA 9600GT, SAMSUNG SyncMaster 795DF, 100 Hz

Монитор может и 100 Гц, но для это нужно что в Windows что в GNU/Linux немного потрепыхатся. Это в первый раз у меня такие проблемы, раньше (с другими дистрибутивами всё было хорошо). Проблема в том что я не могу настроить частоту обновления экрана в 100 Гц. Листинг xorg.conf:

Нашел вот это http://grenage.com/xorg.html (последний абзац), но это вроде не мой случай (монтор только один).

Судя по EDID производитель не знает что твой монитор может 100 Гц. Если хочешь его обмануть - на свой страх и риск - отключи EDID. Option NoEDID Option UseEDIDFreqs “FALSE” Option ModeValidation “NoEdidMaxPClkCheck”

Так как, если, добавить туда, например, настройку раскладки, то X`ы не запускаются — нужно писать весь конфиг.

У меня впервые случились глюки от прописывания устройств ввода ещё во времена F13. Иксы просто не стартовали и всё. Удалил упоминания об InputDivice'ах из xorg.conf'а — всё заработало. Такие дела.

Если уж и прописывать устройства ввода, то только если по-другому совсем никак. Например, для некоторых пальцетыкательных девайсов.

Монитор может и 100 Гц

EDID об этом не знает. Ещё не понятно с чего вы решили что он может 100Hz при разрешении 1024x768. В выхлопах которые тут предоставлены, несколько раз написана реальная возможность монитора 1024 x 768 @ 85.0 Hz.

Ещё необходимо посмотреть тех.характеристики на монитор в плане: Частота горизонтальной развертки,Частота вертикальной развертки. Если не совпадают прописать вручную.

Как то..кажется..в каком-то... Вам кажется в этом и проблема. 1280x1024 75.0Hz, 1024x768 85Hz это стандартные разрешения и частота. Частота может быть меньше но никак не больше(для данных разрешений)!.

Попробовал сначала в Windows XP потом и в Linux. Всё работало.

Вот именно всё работало при разрешении 1024x768 85Hz

Вот xorg.conf из crunchbang, в котором всё работало:

Это всего лишь строчка из xorg.conf к счастью для вас EDID не даст этого сделать.

И напоследок даже xrandr и nvidia-setting могут обманывать. 2 года я работал на частоте 1280х1024 75Hz. xrandr показывал 1280х1024 60Hz, nvidia-setting 1280х1024 частоту вообще не определял.. баг с дровами и только с выходом NVIDIA-Linux-x86-304.60 всё стало корректно работать.

Я аж устал писать..надеюсь этой информации к размышлению вам хватит.
